Glorification of Hyderabadi Biryani

The most authentic Biryani in Inida is undoubtedly prepared in Hyderabad. I do not how but the aroma we get from well prepared Hyderabad Biryani is so unique that you are carried into that era of Qutubshahis of Golkonda kingdom. By the way, Biryani is an Iranian dish, brought to us by shia rulers of Golconda (Hyderabad-Deccan). Hence Biryani of Hyderabad has inculcated such an exotic mellow in it.

I thought of writing a poem in praise of Biryani. I started writing it in our traditional style of 'padyam'. The result, according to my friends and critics, is as beautiful and enchanting as the Biryani itself.

In this poem the taste of of Biryani is taken to such position that no poet has ever imagined to lift it to that height.

The poem says that even the immortal gods have fallen in love with this dish and having forgotten their divine status they started frequenting to Hyderabad on earth. They are so infatuated with the transcendental aroma of this preparation that it made them addicts to its taste. That is its uniqueness. There are many complaints about the absenteeism of these celestial beings in Indra-Sabha.

In order to control the frequent trips of gods an Order was required to be passed to restrict their visits to planet earth. That is the beauty of Hyderabadi Biryani.

This poem shall be appreciated by all the elite, the intellectuals and connoisseurs who relish Hyderabadi Biryani. It will sharpen their taste buds for this Unique Dish.



బిర్యాని వంటకాన్ని ఇంత వరకు ఏ కవి ఇంత ఉన్నతమైన రీతిలో ప్రశంసించి ఉండడు. బహుశా బిర్యాని పై కవితలు లేవేమో. దేవతలు కూడా హైదరాబాద్ బిర్యాని రుచికి వ్యసనపరులై దేవతలమనే విషయాన్ని కూడా పక్కనబెట్టి భూలోకంలోని హైదరాబాద్ కు తరచూ వస్తున్నారట. దీనితో అక్కడ స్వర్గంలో ఫిర్యాదులు ఎక్కువైనాయి, దేవతలు భూ లోకం లోనే కాలం గడిపేస్తున్నారని. అందువల్ల మాటిమాటికి భూలోకానికి దేవతల రాకడ పై ఆంక్షలు విధించడమయినది. ఇంత మహోత్కృష్టమైన వంటకం మన 'హైదరాబాది బిర్యాని' - ఆస్వాదించండి.

బిర్యాని రుచిని మరిగి అమర్త్యులు సైతం
మర్యాద మరిచి భువికి రాపోసాగగ;
ఫిర్యాదులతో ఇంద్రసభ సతమతమై, బహు
పర్యాయముల రాకడ నిషిద్ధమాయె !
